Sherri Schultz graduated magna cum laude
from the Honors
Adaptable and flexible, Sherri is thoroughly conversant with The Chicago Manual of Style and The AP Stylebook. She has a passion for ensuring that text is compelling and error-free, and her clients are equally effusive in response: “You are amazing,” “exceptional,” "awesome," “editing with intelligence, taste, and care,” “wonderful insights,” "amazing talent," and “YOU ROCK!” are just a few of their comments. As a writer and editor, she has been honored to contribute her talents to nonprofit organizations such as the Council for a Livable World and the Herbert Scoville Peace Fellowship Program (Washington, D.C.); the Poetry Foundation (Chicago); Northwest Environment Watch, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Women's Funding Alliance (Seattle); and the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California and the University Mound Ladies Home (San Francisco). Sherri is the founder of the Northwest Independent Editors Guild, an 11-year-old nonprofit professional network for Northwest freelance editors, which now has more than 200 members throughout Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. She relocated to San Francisco in 2006 but remains on the steering committee of the Editors Guild as well as the advisory board of the University of Washington Editing Certificate Program. Sherri has been a guest lecturer in the UW Editing Certificate Program and has appeared on panels at conferences and meetings of Book Publishers Northwest, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association, and the Pacific Northwest Writers Association. She was a featured guest expert at Solving Your Problems, a nationally presented workshop sponsored by Copy Editor: Language News for the Publishing Profession. Sherri believes in giving back to
her community. She donates writing and editing services to San Francisco
nonprofit organizations via the Taproot
Foundation, which organizes teams of professionals to do pro bono work. She also designs and leads personalized
walking tours of San Francisco through
the Golden Gate Greeter program of Joie de Vivre
hotels.
